Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is seeking Summer Day Camp Program Aides for the Youth Center at the Mabee Red Shield location. You will assist the Unit Director and interact with children during recreational activities.

Responsibilities include supervising activities, ensuring safety, organizing field trips, maintaining a clean environment, and supporting training sessions. CPR/First Aid certification and HS diploma or GED are required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED AND two years of experience working with children OR an equivalent demonstration of training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assists Unit Director and the Assistant Unit Director for Programs with Summer Day Camp program.
• Interacts with children in recreational activities.
• Monitors and evaluates programs to ensure effectiveness and safety of members.
• Exhibits control of children and when needed, displays proper discipline techniques.
• Ensures productive work environment.
• Ensures that daily activities are in compliance with the Youth Center policies and regulations.
• Assists in preparing and providing field trips for children.
• Assists in organizing, implementing and evaluating activities and programs for Summer Day Camp Program.
• Performs cleaning duties-taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming rooms and sweeping/mopping hallways or gym.
• May provide snacks to children.
• Assists and participates in regularly scheduled training sessions.
