Job summary

Guardian is offering a data engineering internship focused on building and maintaining data pipelines and scalable data products. You will work with Python, SQL, Databricks, and cloud platforms to deliver trusted data for reporting, analytics, and AI/ML initiatives.

Qualifications

• Currently a junior graduating December 2027 or May 2028, or current sophomore graduating December 2028 or May 2029.
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future
• Available for the full internship program dates
• Exposure to programming using Python and SQL
• Understanding of databases, data structures, and data processing concepts
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, distributed data processing, or modern data engineering technologies is a plus
• Interest in data engineering, analytics engineering, AI/ML, or large‑scale data platforms
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, collaboration, and communication skills
• Enthusiasm, curiosity, willingness to learn, adapt, and thrive in a dynamic environment
• F-1 visa holders requiring H-1B status, TNs, and current H-1B visa holders will not be considered

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver trusted data
• Build scalable data products from structured and semi-structured data for reporting, analytics, machine learning, and business applications
• Learn and apply Databricks, AWS, Python, SQL, and data orchestration tools
• Participate in data quality validation, monitoring, testing, and documentation
• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, architects, and engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Explore AI-assisted engineering, automation, and modern data platforms
• Develop skills in data exploration, engineering, and analysis
• Learn from leaders, mentors, and team members
• Learn about Guardian’s purpose, values, products, and services
• Build a professional network and community with other interns and business colleagues
• Think broadly and ask questions about data, facts, and other information
