The Church Summer Custodian isresponsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of church facilities, ensuring a welcoming and presentable environment for services, events, and daily use.This role involves regular cleaning tasks, such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing restrooms, as well as setting up and taking down equipment for church activities.Additionally, custodians may be involved in minor maintenance, stocking supplies, and ensuring the overall safety and security of the church grounds.
This includes vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing all areas of the church, including restrooms, sanctuary, classrooms, and common areas.
Ensuring restrooms are well-stocked and sanitized, including replenishing supplies like soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
Setting up and taking down chairs, tables, and other equipment for church services, meetings, and special events.
Performing minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, and reporting any major maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
Monitoring inventory and restocking cleaning supplies, paper products, and other essential items.
Being aware of and reporting any security concerns or suspicious activity on the church grounds.
In some cases, custodians may also be responsible for maintaining the church grounds, including mowing lawns, removing snow, and keeping the exterior areas clean
The position often requires standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 60 lbs), and other physical activities.
A strong attention to detail is needed to ensure thorough cleaning and maintenance.
Custodians need to be able to work independently and manage their time effectively.
Being trustworthy, reliable, and responsible for church property is essential.
Effective communication with church staff and other team members is important.
Knowledge of proper chemical handling and safety procedures is necessary.
