Job summary

Landmark Builders in Columbia, South Carolina, invites a Summer Intern to join its hands-on internship program designed to launch a career in commercial construction. Interns rotate between active job sites and the home office, learning from Project Managers, Superintendents, and field personnel while contributing to real project work.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related degree program.
• Familiarity with construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project) is a plus but not required.
• Ability to travel to local project sites as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with daily construction reports, project documentation, and record-keeping.
• Participating in quantity takeoffs, pricing, and procurement of materials.
• Helping prepare and implement two-week look-ahead schedules.
• Assisting in the submittal and RFI (Request for Information) processes.
• Supporting weekly subcontractor progress meetings and owner/architect meetings, including capturing meeting minutes as needed.
• Contributing to quality control and safety inspections, ensuring compliance with Landmark standards.
• Performing occasional hands-on field work and general labor to gain practical understanding of site operations.
• Maintaining open communication with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and other team members to keep projects on track.
