Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking a Summer 2027 Operational Finance Intern in Huntsville to apply academic knowledge to real-world construction finance. You will learn GAAP construction accounting, earnings recognition, and budgeting, while assisting with billings, cost coding, and month-end close tasks.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a 2- or 4-year college or university offering accredited degree programs in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study with at least 1 year of completed coursework or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age to work on a construction project site.
• Must be willing to work a standard work week.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel; strong data entry and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Intern Program and support project deliverables.
• Learn GAAP concepts and construction accounting principles with guidance.
• Review billing details against contractual requirements for accuracy.
• Assist with validating coding of project costs and journal entries.
• Support month-end close processes and project cash flow monitoring.
• Gain exposure to AI tools and data analytics to improve reporting processes.
