Job summary

Missouri Department of Transportation in Hannibal, MO seeks a Communications Intern to assist with department publications, website editorial content, and outreach materials. You will help develop content for internal and external audiences under moderate supervision.

The role involves taking photos and video, writing stories, publishing social media content, and supporting district customer service and public events. Enrollment in a related degree program is required.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a relevant bachelor’s or post-bachelor’s degree program full-time (12+ credit hours).
• 30 credit hours completed/accepted toward current degree program; transcripts required.
• GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.

• Develops website content, brochures, handouts, newsletters, and other publicity materials; designs and publishes written materials.
• Writes feature stories for department publications.

• Assists with special projects such as exhibitions, conference displays, safety campaigns, and other promotions.

Minimum Qualifications

All you need for success:

• Enrolled in a relevant bachelor’s or post-bachelor’s degree program full-time (12+ credit hours).
• 30 credit hours completed/accepted toward current degree program. High school or other postsecondary program credits must be shown to be accepted by the current program through a degree transcript to apply.
• Possess and maintain an overall GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.0, or equivalent.
