Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding offers internships which allow students to gain experience in technical or administrative positions and provide the opportunity to possibly gain future full time employment.

Some engineering, technical, and waterfront positions may require the ability to physically access a wide variety of work sites, including those aboard ships under various stages of construction or overhaul, and may involve limited kneeling, stooping, standing, etc.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age before the start of the internship period.
• Enrolled in a degreed program supporting the company’s business requirements.
• Minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher; transcripts may be required.
• Attend college/university in the fall following the internship.
• Pass criminal background check, physical, and hair follicle drug screen.
• Commit to a 40-hour work week for a minimum of 10 weeks.
• Provide a valid email address for communication and offers.
