Job summary

Ardurra is seeking a Public Works Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027 in Houston, TX. You will support engineering assignments related to planning, design, and construction of public works, gaining real-world experience and developing technical skills.

Responsibilities include assisting with drawings and calculations, preparing reports, and participating in field data collection under supervision. The role emphasizes learning, teamwork, and exposure to the company’s processes and standards.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Exposure to or familiarity with AutoCAD or similar engineering software is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and work ethic.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Team-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work with a team of professionals and independently.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Bluebeam and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Assists with preparing basic plan details, drawings, and calculations under the guidance of project engineers.
• Supports the development of technical specifications and project documentation.
• Drafts sections of technical reports or memorandums with direction from the team.
• Participates in field visits to observe tests, take measurements, and collect field data.
• Provides general support to project teams, including helping with proposal materials as needed.
• Performs assigned duties to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures and standards required for successful performance.
• May perform duties such as gathering and organizing data for special projects or reports; assisting professional staff on assignments.
• Utilizes current company software to complete assignments.
• Assumes additional responsibilities as needed to support team and organizational goals.
