Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers in Newport Beach is seeking a Civil Engineering student for the Summer 2027 Civil Engineering Program. You will join the project team to gain hands-on experience in planning, designing, and delivering civil projects across Southern California, working with engineers on real projects from start to construction.

During the internship you will contribute to active projects, gain proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and learn the consulting side of engineering through

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering and entering junior year by Summer 2027.
Ability to commit to a full-time summer (~40 hours/week) from late May/June to Aug.
Work onsite five days per week in Newport Beach.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; exposure to AutoCAD/Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

Contribute to active projects and assist with design and analysis.
Build technical skills with AutoCAD and Civil 3D and other tools.
Learn from experienced engineers through mentorship and collaboration.
Participate in site observations and multidisciplinary project discussions.
Understand consulting processes from project start through construction.
