YMCA is seeking a Summer Resident Camp Leadership Staff member in Boomer, NC, to lead and support seasonal camp staff under the Camp Director. The role emphasizes training, supervision, and ensuring high-quality, safe camp programs in alignment with YMCA values.

Qualifications

• Must have strong organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
• Experience guiding staff and leading groups in a camp setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic publishing tools is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordination, and implementation of staff orientation, training, and development activities.
• Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision to cabin counselors, ensuring program quality and safety.
• Support the development and delivery of staff training content, including YMCA policies and safety standards.
• Monitor and evaluate staff performance, offering coaching and recognition.
• Ensure safe and inclusive camp programs that reflect YMCA mission and values.
• Supervise cabin life, camper adjustment, group living, and parent communication.
• Facilitate camp spiritual life components, including devotions and worship services.
• Collaborate with the Camp Director to meet budgetary, program quality, and safety goals.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
