Job summary

YMCA of Greater Charlotte is seeking a Leadership Staff member for the Summer Day Camp program in Lake Wylie, SC. Under the Camp Director, you will provide operational and administrative support to ensure smooth day camp operations and logistics during assigned hours.

You will work closely with YMCA staff to plan, implement, and oversee activities, trainings, and family events while upholding the YMCA culture and core values of respect, caring, honesty, responsibility, and faith.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age and/or one year of college.
• 2+ years experience as a camp counselor, or equivalent leadership.
• Demonstrate emotional maturity, good moral character, judgement, integrity and leadership.
• Ability to work within a Christian environment and promote YMCA core values.

Responsibilities

• Assist in facilitating YMCA Summer Day Camp staff trainings, meetings, and family events.
• Monitor camp activities and provide support to day camp counselors to ensure safe operations.
• Enforce program safety and quality standards during assigned hours.
• Serve as a positive role model for staff and campers, leading with enthusiasm.
• Teach and enforce appropriate behavior expectations with all children and staff.
• Provide administrative support and collect-enter information required for programs.
