Responsibilities
Reports to the Recreation & Community Life Director
Serves in a leadership role at the Parker Summer Camp Program at T. G. Young Park
Assists with planning, implementing, and supervising daily summer camp activities
Ensures staff are actively working and appropriately interacting with children
Maintains a safe and nurturing environment for both staff and children
Fosters a positive working and playing environment while teaching life skills (respect, honesty, integrity, compassion)
Supervises, trains, and mentors seasonal counselor staff
Maintains open communication with the Director, staff, parents, and children
Facilitates confidential one‑on‑one conferences to address children’s specific needs or concerns
Communicates concerns to the Director as they arise
Ensures the safety and well‑being of all campers and staff
Maintains inventory of camp supplies and snacks and communicates low inventory needs
Oversees preparation, serving, and storage of daily snacks and lunches
Oversees camper transportation and preparation for activities (field trips, golf lessons, The Lake Club, Community Center, etc.)
Handles feedback, complaints, and incidents professionally and communicates them to the Director
Assists with staffing for camp preparation, daily park cleaning, activities, and themed days
