Summer Trails Maintenance Operator is a non-exempt position that constructs and maintains Nordic and summer trails on the Frisco Peninsula Recreation Area (PRA). Crew members work with the Trail Builder coordinator, Nordic and Trails Manager and other crew members constructing and maintaining trails. This is a physically demanding position requiring the use of hand and power tools and manual labor.

This non-exempt position is responsible for assisting the program supervisor in the planning and implementation of Frisco Fun Club. The individual will also assist with the supervision of camp staff and act as a program supervisor in their absence. This position requires an accountable, energetic, organized, team player with strong communication skills.

Desired start date: 05/22/2025 & estimated end-of-season date: 08/30/2025

Responsibilities:
  • Assists the program supervisor in planning, preparing, and supervising youth recreation programs.
  • Responsible for the supervision, well-being, safety, and care of children and youth attending Recreation and Cultural Department programs.
  • Adheres to recreation program procedures, including registration, parent contact, and conflict resolution.
  • Adheres to all state licensing requirements for childcare operations and processes paperwork.
  • Safely transports participants utilizing vans, buses, or public transportation as needed.
  • Acts as a liaison and the primary point of contact with parents. Interacts with guests, parents, and participants in a positive and professional manner, utilizing excellent guest service standards.
  • Leads program activities, organizes play and structured classes, and ensures children and youth are engaged and fully participating.
  • Maintains professional attitudes and relationships with parents, participants, and co-workers.
  • Ability to function and make good decisions regarding participant safety in the absence of a supervisor.
  • Ensures that facilities are clean, well-maintained, safe, and presentable to customers and participants throughout daily operations.
  • Communicates in a timely and professional manner with citizens, visitors, and Town of Frisco staff.
  • Adheres to all Town of Frisco and Recreation and Cultural Department policies and procedures; including but not limited to safety standards.
  • Works in a team-based environment supporting the Recreation and Cultural Department, the Town of Frisco, and the initiatives of the Director and Managers.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by management.

  • Adheres to Town of Frisco policies, competencies, standards, and regulations including but not limited to proper attire, safety procedures, and overall professionalism.
  • Ability to function and make good decisions in the absence of a supervisor.
  • Communicates with Town of Frisco employees, citizens, customers, and vendors in a professional, courteous, and timely manner both verbally and in writing.
  • Performs other job duties/responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • Employees are held accountable for all duties of this job.

Education:
  • Two years of college training and six (6) months of satisfactory and verifiable full-time or equivalent part-time, paid or volunteer, experience, since attaining the age of eighteen (18), in the care and supervision of 4 or more children-required.
  • OR Three years of satisfactory and verifiable full-time or equivalent part-time, paid or volunteer, experience, since attaining the age of 18, in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children. The program director must complete six (6) semester hours, nine (9) quarter hours in course work from a regionally accredited college or university, or forty (40) clock hours of training in course work applicable to school-age children within the first nine (9) months of employment-required.
Computer Operations:
  • Microsoft Excel, Publisher, Word and Outlook experience preferred.
Licenses, Certifications or Accreditations:
  • Valid Colorado Driver's license is required. Must be at least 21 years of age to drive a 15 passenger van.
  • Community CPR/AED and First Aid, PDT and Medication Administration is required within the first 60 days of hired.
Previous Work Experience:
  • 1 year of prior experience supervising school age children.
Language Ability:
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Decision Making Ability:
  • Ability to function independently and make sound and reasonable decisions in the absence of supervisory guidance.
Other:
  • Experience working in compliance with Colorado State Licensing for school aged children.
