An established industry player in martial arts education is seeking a dedicated individual to lead after-school programs and summer camps. This role emphasizes fostering a fun and safe environment for children aged 5-12, encouraging creativity and discipline. At Professional Blackbelt Academy in West Prosper, we foster a fun and positive culture, providing our members with opportunities to learn various Martial Arts disciplines. This role will oversee our after-school program and summer camps. The ideal candidate will have experience working with youth (ages 5-12) and be a positive leader for our members. Below are some of the responsibilities associated with this position.
Camp Activities - Responsible for generating creative ideas, conducting research, and organizing all camp programs to ensure successful summer camps.
Supervise After School Leadership Team - Maintain an orderly and safe environment, allowing unstructured play and study while enforcing rules against horseplay, running, wrestling, kicking, or excessive noise. Students may not access the mat without instructor permission.
Organize - Keep the Leadership Room clean and organized at all times.
Pre-Class Preparation - Ensure students are ready for class at least 5 minutes early, with proper uniform, belt, no socks, restroom use, and a clean uniform free of crumbs or toys.
Clean - Follow cleaning checklists for end-of-shift maintenance and encourage students to keep their areas tidy as part of self-discipline.
Snack Program - Monitor the snack list to ensure students follow guidelines, especially regarding allergies and sharing restrictions.
Oversee Activities - Lead structured playtime, guiding students in quiet games, puzzles, or crafts, and prevent unsafe behavior like climbing on furniture.
Sickness Protocol - Notify the Program Director if a child becomes sick, so parents can be contacted for pickup.
Discipline - Reinforce existing discipline policies as needed.
LifeSkill Packets - Ensure all leadership students complete their assigned life skill packets, either at home or at the academy.
Cell Phone or Tablet Use - Supervise the leadership team at all times, prohibiting personal device use while on duty and restricting students' access to personal technology and internet, with parental permission for music or shows.
Other Duties - To be discussed during the interview.
Safe Transportation - Responsible for driving the multi-passenger van or MFSAB School Bus on designated routes to ensure safe transportation from elementary schools to the academy.
Hours of Operation - Expected to work 5-6 hours daily, typically from 2:00 pm to 7:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with schedule adjustments on camp days when PISD is closed.
