Job summary

Galileo Learning, LLC is seeking an experienced Camp Director to lead our summer camps for K–8th grade, serving as both site General Manager and the public face of the organization. You will open and operate a Camp Galileo location, leading a seasonal team to ensure joyful, safe environments and high-quality experiences for campers and families.

You will oversee preseason planning, on-site operations, and wrap-up, while maintaining program standards, scheduling, payroll, and ongoing staff

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working with students in education/after-school settings.
• Minimum 1 year of experience managing or supervising adult staff.
• Proven ability to create safe, inclusive environments for children and families.
• Experience setting expectations, giving feedback, and coaching staff.
• Experience with scheduling, staffing, and payroll is a plus.
• Calm decision-making in fast-paced situations including safety concerns.

Responsibilities

• Lead a Camp Galileo location from preseason to wrap-up and be the public face of the camp.
• Manage day-to-day operations, parent communications, and program quality.
• Train, mentor, and supervise staff (7–40, depending on site).
• Oversee scheduling, payroll, and performance management for the team.
• Maintain camper safety, foster trust with families, and uphold Galileo’s mission.
