Job summary

Galileo Learning seeks an experienced Camp Director to lead our summer camps for K–8th grade as the public face of the organization. You’ll open and operate a Camp Galileo site, guiding a dynamic team to deliver joyful, safe, and high-quality experiences for campers and families.

You will manage preseason planning, daily operations, and staff development, with a focus on exemplary customer care, curriculum, and program fidelity across multiple phases of the season.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working directly with students in an education setting.
• Minimum 1 year of experience managing or supervising adult staff.
• Proven ability to create safe, inclusive environments for children and families.
• Ability to set clear expectations and coach staff.
• Experience with scheduling, staffing, and payroll.
• Willingness to travel regionally for events.

Responsibilities

• Infuse camp with joy, tradition, and creativity.
• Own camp launch, preseason planning through wrap-up.
• Oversee daily operations and parent communication while ensuring program excellence.
• Ensure camper safety, family trust, and program fidelity.
• Train and mentor a staff of 7 to 40 and manage performance.
• Build partnerships with families and community partners.
