Outset at University of Michigan is seeking Summer Camp Counselors (18+) who are current University of Michigan students to supervise high school campers, foster safety, and build positive relationships on campus. Ideal candidates have camp counselor experience or are on a pre-med path.

Qualifications

• 18+ required.
• Experience as a camp counselor or on a pre-med pathway preferred.
• Strong ability to supervise, support, and connect with high school students.
• Comfort handling behavior management and escalating serious issues appropriately.
• Willingness to learn and use tech tools (Band, Slack and other CRM).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Outgoing, adaptable and responsible personality.
• Valid driver’s license and medical experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of campers on campus.
• Monitor camper well-being and enforce rules and safety procedures.
• Be the first point of contact for camper roommate issues and daily concerns; escalate as needed.
• Maintain active communication about camper issues and staff responsibilities.
• Lead small group games and team-building activities.
• Assist with larger group activities on and off campus and supervise logistics.
• Greet and support families during check-in/check-out; lead tours and games.
