THIS IS A TEMPORARY SUMMER POSITION.

Teachers are encouraged to apply, as well as recent high school graduates or other mature, dependable persons to work with and supervise summer youth day camp participants and activities. The program includes hands-on participation in recreational, sports, arts and crafts, field trips, and more. Strong group teaming, cooperation, and problem-solving skills are essential. CPR certification and other training will be provided if not already certified. Applicants must be available for an 8-hour shift Monday through Friday between 6:30 AM and 9:00 PM, and will be responsible for opening and closing the facility.

Major Duties

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of campers at all times. Assist in cleaning and organizing sports and recreation equipment.
• Participate actively with camp groups, making camp enjoyable, teaching skills, and serving as a positive role model.
• Plan and coordinate camp activities.
• Fulfill administrative requests supporting camp policies and procedures.
• Drive a vehicle (e.g., 15-passenger van).
• Pass a pre-employment background check, MVR, physical, drug screening, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with youth groups in a recreation environment.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Preferred: NYSCA and/or Youth Sports Administrator certification.
• Experience in education, recreation, or camp counseling preferred.
• Valid Georgia Driver’s License.

Knowledge and Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Stamina to stand and walk for at least four hours daily.
• Agility to climb facilities as needed.
• Sensory ability to officiate athletic events and monitor safety and rule compliance.

Work Environment

• Work occurs in recreation settings, both indoors and outdoors, at various sites and facilities.
• Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
