Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Summer Camp Counselor at two locations in Richmond Heights and Wickliffe Ohio. The Summer Camp Counselor will be responsible for planning and leading camp activities, supervising campers, ensuring their safety, and fostering a fun and engaging camp environment. Duties include developing educational programs, facilitating interpersonal interactions among campers, and maintaining open and effective communication with both campers and staff. We’re looking for individuals who are smart, caring, hard-working, enthusiastic, and responsible—and most importantly, experienced in working with young children.

Candidates must be able to commit to the full 10 weeks of camp. Training begins in May, with the opportunity to continue into the fall as part of our Before/After School Program.

Each year, ESLC camp counselors must be able to lead activities in a designated focus area, including:

• Visual & Performing Arts
• Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)
• Sports & Games
• and other topics

Qualifications

• Experience in camp-related activities and education
• Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities
• Ability to supervise group activities and ensure camper safety
• Experience in an educational setting is beneficial
• Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a passion for working with children
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
