Job Overview

We are seeking a creative, skilled, and enthusiastic Summer Camp Cook to lead cooking activities for campers aged 7-15. The Cook will develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate cooking projects, foster creativity, and ensure a safe and fun environment for campers. Key Responsibilities

1. Meal Planning and Preparation: Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals and snacks suitable for children of different age groups.
2. Instruction: Teach basic cooking skills and safety procedures to campers, encouraging participation and learning.
3. Safety Management: Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment, enforce safety protocols, and supervise campers during cooking activities.
4. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all cooking equipment is clean, maintained, and in good working order.
5. Camper Engagement: Foster a positive environment that encourages teamwork, creativity, and confidence-building through cooking activities.
6. Staff Collaboration: Work closely with camp staff to coordinate meal schedules and integrate cooking activities into the camp program.
7. Inventory Management: Keep track of food supplies and kitchen materials, submitting requests for replenishment as needed.

Qualifications

1. Experience in cooking or culinary arts, with the ability to teach foundational skills to children.
2. Previous experience working with children or in a camp setting preferred.
3. Strong organizational and communication skills.
4. Ability to manage a group of children in a dynamic environment.
5. Knowledge of and commitment to kitchen safety standards and practices.

Physical Requirements

1. Ability to stand, walk, and work in a kitchen environment for extended periods.
2. Comfort with lifting and handling cooking materials and equipment.

Schedule & Commitment

This is a full-time, seasonal position from June 12th - August 10th, 2025. The position includes a competitive salary, room and board, and a travel stipend.

Compensation
