Job summary

Cornell Cooperative Extension Suffolk County is seeking an Association Tmp Camp Couns Sr to participate in general camp program planning and assist with all activities in Southold, NY. You will help interpret safety rules, attend staff meetings, and develop CIT learning activities.

Ideal candidates are 18+, with experience with children, and able to travel and work evenings/ weekends. Certifications like First Aid/CPR are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old to comply with NYS Department of Health regulations.
• Experience working with children.
• Ability to facilitate at least one program area.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the general planning of the camp program and assist with all camp activities.
• Interpret safety and health regulations and attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Develop and implement learning activities for CITs; set goals and foster teamwork.
• Facilitate group meetings to share ideas, evaluate progress, and plan camp events.
• Ensure CITs are accounted for during scheduled unit times and provide feedback to counselors and senior staff.
