Cornell Cooperative Extension is seeking an Association Tmp Camp Director to oversee camper well-being, staff supervision, and safety, with on-site residency required. You will lead problem-solving, supervise Unit Coordinators and the CIT Coordinator, and serve as Camp Director in the Director's absence.

Responsibilities emphasize collaboration with the Camp Director, maintaining health and safety standards, and fostering a community-oriented culture of acceptance, cooperation, and empathy.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 25 years old or have a Bachelor’s degree to comply with NYS Department of Health regulations.
• Must have at least 24 weeks of administrative or supervisory experience in camping or related experience.
• Ability to meet acceptable background check standards, if required.
• Must be able to live on site.
• Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as appropriate.

Responsabilités

• Lead unit staff guidance and communication, including staff meetings and evaluations.
• Direct program staff to seek continuous improvement and excellence.
• Communicate with Unit Coordinators and CIT Coordinators to identify strengths and concerns.
• Take corrective actions with Camp Director to reduce risks and ensure safe camp management.
• Supervise and evaluate Unit Coordinators and CIT Coordinator.
• Ensure compliance with camp policies and health and safety standards.
• Support a community-oriented camp culture emphasizing acceptance, cooperation, and empathy.
• Serve as primary contact between camp and parents for camper incidents.
• Serve as Camp Director in the Camp Director's absence.
• Implement health and safety guidelines in the Suffolk County camp safety plan.
