L’Arche Chicago invites you to apply for our Summer Assistant Internship, where you would share life with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and other assistants while living in one of our four community homes for the summer.

As an assistant, you would provide direct care support to the core members. For example, most days, assistants support core members with cleaning the home, cooking meals, and attending to personal care. You would also be trained to support core members with medications, transportation, appointments, budgeting, and behavioral interventions.

During your time at L’Arche, you can expect personal and professional growth, rooted in real relationships of mutual support with core members and assistants.
