Job summary

The Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) is looking for Teaching Assistants for its summer PreCollege Art and Design Program. TAs will assist faculty in delivering high-quality instruction, overseeing studio time, and ensuring a welcoming environment for students. Responsibilities include academic planning, supervising students, and enforcing program policies.

Applicants must be current undergraduate students at MICA with at least a 2.5 GPA. The role offers 20-40 hours per week at $15 per hour, with optional housing and meals provided during the program.

Qualifications

• Must maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
• Experience working with youth in a formal job setting or volunteer role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist faculty with instructional implementation and student support.
• Supervise required studio time outside of class.
• Facilitate and encourage students to develop healthy interpersonal relationships.
