Job summary

Butterball, LLC invites students to join an Animal Care & Wellbeing (ACWB) Intern program in Goldsboro, NC. You’ll support live operations and processing teams to care for turkeys and ensure product quality, working alongside a tight team of experts.

The internship offers hands-on experience, professional development, and networking with industry leaders. A 10–12 week program emphasizes problem-solving and teamwork in a production environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Agricultural Business or related field with expected graduation Dec 2027–Jun 2029.
• All participants must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work.
• Occasional night shift may be required.
• Comfort working in outdoor environments and production facilities, including hot, humid and loud conditions.
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Interest in learning about the commercialization of livestock.

Responsibilities

• Assist in ongoing trials and projects involving turkeys on the farm and/or in the plant.
• Evaluate data gathered to improve our management practices.
• Assist in animal care and biosecurity audits and audit preparation, as needed.
