Odyssey Reinsurance Company seeks a Summer Intern in Actuarial to evaluate profitability of reinsurance proposals and learn from seasoned actuaries. The role runs for 10 weeks starting June 2027 with a hybrid schedule (4 days in the Stamford, CT office and 1 day of remote work each week).

The candidate should be pursuing an actuarial science or related mathematical degree with a 3.2+ GPA, show strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and have Excel proficiency; knowledge of VBA, Tableau, SQL,

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in actuarial science or a related mathematical field with GPA ≥ 3.2
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills; eager to learn
• Participation in Casualty Actuarial Society exam process is encouraged
• Proficiency with Excel is required; VBA, Tableau, SQL, R, Python are a plus

Responsibilities

• Shadow actuarial staff to evaluate profitability of reinsurance proposals
• Assist in building and improving pricing models
• Develop dashboards and data visualizations for clients
• Hybrid role: 4 days in‑office, 1 day remote weekly in Stamford, CT
