Job summary

P2S|CMTA is seeking a Summer Accounting Intern in Long Beach, CA, to join the Accounting team for 10–12 weeks starting in June. You will gain hands-on experience with real-world financial tasks and be involved in month-end close activities and internal training opportunities.

The role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams, exposure to audits, and mentorship tailored to career goals. Pay is hourly for undergraduates and graduates, with in-office scheduling Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s program in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Detail-oriented: Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Time Management: Efficient organizational and time-management skills.
• Technology Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
• Reconcile accounts, ledgers, and journal entries.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
• Assist AP and AR departments with department related activities to ensure timely payments and collections, respectively.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to leadership.
• Support audits and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards essential for career development after college.
