Job summary

Welltower is seeking a Capital Projects internship to support senior housing capital initiatives. You will collaborate with project managers, attend meetings, and assist with documentation, scheduling, and reporting across active sites.

You will gain hands-on exposure to budgets, timelines, and the full project lifecycle, working with experienced professionals in a dynamic real estate environment.

Qualifications

• Current sophomore or junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field, preferred.
• Strong interest in construction, project management, commercial real estate, or capital improvement projects, with a basic understanding of construction processes, drawings, and scheduling.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability and willingness to visit active construction/project sites as needed.
• Exposure to ARGUS Enterprise or comparable real estate valuation software is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers with the day-to-day coordination of capital and renovation projects, including tracking schedules, milestones, action items, and overall project progress.
• Participate in project meetings and site visits with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to gain exposure to construction activities, safety, quality, and project execution.
• Assist with maintaining project documentation, including scopes of work, drawings, contracts, change orders, schedules, trackers, and other project-related materials.
• Support the preparation of weekly project updates and status reports, helping communicate progress, risks, and outstanding items to project stakeholders.
• Assist with project close-out activities, including organizing required documentation and ensuring project files are complete and properly maintained.
• Gain hands‑on exposure to project budgets, construction schedules, contractor coordination, and the overall capital project lifecycle while providing additional support to the Capital Projects team as needed.

SUMMARY

This position will support the Capital Projects team in the execution of senior housing capital projects throughout the designated market. The intern will gain hands‑on experience across multiple active projects while assisting with contractor coordination, construction schedules, project documentation, status reporting, and communication with internal and external project stakeholders.

This internship is intended to provide practical experience beyond the classroom. Interns will gain exposure to real‑world construction project management, contractor coordination, project schedules, site activities, capital planning, stakeholder communication, and project close‑out while working directly with experienced members of Welltower’s Capital Projects team.

TRAVEL

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for the full duration of the internship; this position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. Exposure to ARGUS Enterprise or comparable real estate valuation software is a plus, but is not required.
