Job summary

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in Colorado Springs. You will work with a team of engineers on building projects across commercial, educational, healthcare and government facilities, gaining hands-on experience in HVAC and plumbing design, load calculations, and construction administration.

Applicants pursuing a BS in Mechanical Engineering (ABET accredited) with MS Office skills and familiarity with Revit/AutoCAD are encouraged to apply; strong

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Revit and/or AutoCAD experience would be beneficial.
• Computer proficiency with MS Office, Excel and Word.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• HVAC and Plumbing design for various projects.
• Prepare load calculations and concept system designs in preparation for construction documents.
• Construction administration.
• Gain knowledge in building codes and system design.
• Work as part of a design team.
• Create HVAC and plumbing drawings using Revit and AutoCAD software packages.
• Observing construction at various job sites.
• General project and office/ field support.
