Farnsworth Group in Peoria, Illinois is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to gain hands-on experience on building systems design, assisting with HVAC and plumbing design, load calculations, and construction administration on commercial, educational, and government facilities.

You will work with a team of engineers, use Revit and AutoCAD, and develop knowledge of building codes while supporting project teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• MS Office, Excel, Word proficiency.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• HVAC and Plumbing design for various projects.
• Prepare load calculations and concept system designs for construction documents.
• Construction administration support.
• Gain knowledge in building codes and system design.
• Work as part of a design team.
• Create HVAC and plumbing drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Observe construction at job sites.
• Provide general project and office/field support.
