Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is offering a 15‑week Manufacturing Engineering internship where you will work closely with engineering teams on projects spanning mechanical, propulsion, structural, fluid, and avionics systems. The role emphasizes design for manufacturing and integration of test, operations and materials processes.

You will gain hands-on experience, receive mentorship, and participate in events to learn about other parts of the organization. Housing and relocation support are provided.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or asylum seeker.
  • Currently enrolled in graduate degree program with at least one semester or quarter remaining after the internship.
  • Available to work full time for 15 weeks while not enrolled in coursework.
  • Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for space.

Job description

As part of a hardworking team, interns work directly with Blue engineering teams on projects in support of our business units. Manufacturing Engineering Intern Projects may involve different aspects of applied manufacturing engineering in the development and fabrication of mechanical, propulsion, structural, fluid and avionics systems. The projects will include the integration of design for manufacturing, test, operations, and materials &processes.

During your internship, you can expect to:
  • Gain hands on, real-world experience.
  • Receive mentorship and feedback from mentors and managers.
  • Participate in events to learn about other parts of our organization.
Required Qualifications:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:
  • Experience working in a product design or manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to GD&T (Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing).
  • DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly).
  • Relevant internship/co‑op and academic project experience that demonstrate development of both technical skills relevant to the internship as well as leadership qualities.
  • Hands‑on project experience.
  • Co‑curricular engagement.

We offer housing and relocation support. Interns are responsible for daily transportation to and from their work locations.

Hourly compensation for applicant is: $38.00
