Job summary

onsemi is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Production Planning Engineering Intern to join our manufacturing operations team. In this role, you will work alongside production planning, operations, and engineering teams to support factory performance through data analysis, production monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a relevant engineering or analytics field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or similar platforms.
• Interest in semiconductor manufacturing and factory operations.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Support production planning activities by monitoring work-in-process (WIP) movement and manufacturing line performance.
• Assist in prioritizing production lots based on operational needs, tool availability, and production targets.
• Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, throughput constraints, and opportunities for cycle time reduction.
• Collaborate with Production Planning Engineers and Shift Operations teams to support daily factory execution.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations to track key manufacturing performance metrics.
• Monitor fab health indicators such as queue lengths, WIP aging, tool utilization, and production output.
• Support the creation of daily and weekly operational reports and presentations for manufacturing leadership.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing factory efficiency, line flow, and dispatch effectiveness.
• Work with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, and Operations to solve production challenges.

onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $26.00 -$44.00 per hour exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
