Job summary

QTS Data Centers in Suwanee, GA offers a summer internship program that provides hands-on exposure to the fast-paced data center industry through weekly lunch and learns, a comprehensive orientation, and site-based activities, socials, and volunteering events.

As Technology Intern you will connect with SMEs to capture daily processes, map findings for efficiencies, develop scopes of work for design, configuration, and commissioning services, and support day-to-day tech team tasks.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis and budgeting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Must be a US Citizen

Job description

QTS' summer internship program will provide you first hand experience into the fast paced world of the data center industry by providing weekly lunch and learns, a comprehensive orientation program, and site based activities, socials and volunteering events. Every intern will be assigned initiatives tied to real QTS objectives helping with anything pertaining to the whole life-cycle of a data center build and/or company operations.

Technology Intern:

• Connect with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to capture their daily processes and procedures
• Map out said findings and analyze for efficiencies and stop-gaps
• Take holistic approach with leaders to identify advanced and new approaches
• Assist the Technology team with other day-to-day activities and responsibilities.
• Develop scopes of work for design, configuration, and commissioning services.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis and budgeting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Preferred degree for project work would be Industrial Engineering
• Current full-time enrollment in one of QTS's partner institutions (listed below) or a Blackstone Launchpad affiliate school:
• Auburn University
• Kansas State University
• Georgia State University
• Southern Adventist University
• Texas A&M University
• University of Kansas
• Previous internship or co-op experience in construction, finance, technology, HR, facilities engineering, or related industries.
• Experience with data analysis tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience with programming languages like Python, Java, etc.
• Involvement in community activities outside of schoolwork (athletics, clubs, volunteering, part-time employment).
