Job summary

QTS is seeking a Facilities Engineering Intern to be immersed in the project life-cycle of commissioning and de-commissioning events at an active Data Center. You will assist with engineering aspects of site startup, participate in design and commissioning activities, and support automation projects using Revit, CAD, and DCIM software.

The internship offers exposure to project planning, progress monitoring, and documentation within a regulated data center environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, construction management, construction engineering, civil engineering, facilities management, or similar field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis and budgeting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Job description

QTS' summer internship program will provide you first hand experience into the fast paced world of the data center industry by providing weekly lunch and learns, a comprehensive orientation program, and site based activities, socials and volunteering events. Every intern will be assigned initiatives tied to real QTS objectives helping with anything pertaining to the whole life-cycle of a data center build and/or company operations.

The Facilities Operations and Commissioning Intern will be fully immersed the project life-cycle of commissioning/de-commissioning events at an active Data Center. Responsibilities can include, but aren't limited to:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Facilities Management, or similar field
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis and budgeting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Must be a US Citizen

• Current full-time enrollment in one of QTS's partner institutions (listed below) or a Blackstone Launchpad affiliate school:

• Southern Adventist University
• Texas A&M University
• University of Kansas
• Previous internship or co-op experience in construction, finance, technology, data center, facilities engineering, or related industries.
• Involvement in community activities outside of schoolwork (athletics, clubs, volunteering, part-time employment).
