Job summary

qtsdatacenters is seeking a Sustainability Intern to analyze corporate policies, standards, and historical data for sustainability metrics and reporting. The role involves drafting reports in Excel and PowerPoint, and collaborating with leaders across business units to gather information.

The intern will conduct industry and energy sector research, assist in presenting findings, and support data-driven decision making. Strong communications and analytical skills are required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; Excel for data analysis and budgeting, PowerPoint for presentations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• U.S. citizenship required.

The Sustainability Intern will work on a variety of objectives centered around analyzing corporate policies, standards/practices, and historical data as it relates to our sustainability metrics and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Draft or audit Excel, PowerPoint, and Canva based reports per project assigned
• Collaborate with leaders across business units to gather and collate information for reporting building purposes
• Communicate regularly in a professional manner and help design and/or deliver presentations
• Perform industry, environmental, and energy sector based research

Basic Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar program.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis and budgeting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Must be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current full-time enrollment in one of QTS's partner institutions (listed below) or a Blackstone Launchpad affiliate school:
• Auburn University
• Kansas State University
• Georgia State University
• Southern Adventist University
• Texas A&M University
• University of Kansas
• Previous internship or co-op experience in construction, finance, technology, HR, facilities engineering, or related industries.
• Experience with data analysis tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience with programming languages like Python, Java, etc.
• Involvement in community activities outside of schoolwork (athletics, clubs, volunteering, part-time employment).
