Ally Financial invites you to join an 11-week paid internship in our Supply Chain program in the United States. You’ll gain hands-on, project-based experience and participate in a structured intern cohort with mentoring and networking opportunities.

The program runs May 21 – July 31, 2027, with 40 hours per week, a mix of in-office and remote work, market-competitive hourly compensation, a sign-on bonus, and housing assistance for those who qualify.

Qualifications

  • Rising Junior or Senior in an undergraduate program.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates analytical thinking, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Available for the full duration of the internship program.
  • Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship from the company now or in the future.
  • Preferred: Majoring in supply chain, logistics, or operations.
  • Previous supply chain internship experience or relevant project work.
  • Extracurricular activities/leadership experience is preferred.

Work Schedule

Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. The Details

Internship Program Timing: May 21 – July 31, 2027 (tentative) 40 hours each week with a mix of in-office and remote working days Project-based work Market competitive hourly compensation and a sign-on bonus, as well as financial housing assistance for those who qualify Successful interns will have the opportunity to return to Ally in an Early Talent Program or full-time role, or to a second internship, depending upon graduation timing.
Interning within Supply Chain means being part of a team that is responsible for various aspects of acquiring goods and services, providing sourcing, contracting, Third Party relationship management, and Third Party data management for Ally. We partner with Business Unit/Enterprise Function leaders to identify, source, contract, and procure goods or services from qualified Third Parties to meet strategic goals. Throughout the duration of the 11-week program, you'll have the ability to hone your skills in negotiation, problem solving, data analysis, influencing and communication to name a few. Typically, interns are matched with a specific team and manager in mid-spring. Doing so offers the ability to assign program participants to real-time, business critical needs.

Teams and Roles
  • Sourcing – Partnering with lines of business across the Ally enterprise to invent sourcing strategies to support the needs of the business. This can include conducting RFP’s, RFIs, sole source negotiations amongst others. Performs industry analysis and benchmarking to formulate category strategies.
  • Contracting – Builds, negotiates, and manages contracts for third parties. Leverages best practices to mitigate and identify residual contract risk while engaging risk partners and legal team for review.
  • Risk & Controls – Evaluates Third Party risks, policies, and procedures against Ally requirements to advise and lead sourcing representatives to the best contractual obligations.
  • Supply Chain Operations – Handles internal and external audit requests, while establishing effective controls framework for Supply Chain. Responsible for Supply Chain Data Governance program to ensure effective compliance to Policies and Procedures.
  • Payment Services – Supports supply chain operations by processing invoices, reconciling purchase orders, and overseeing payments made to suppliers.
  • Purchasing – Coordinates purchase requisitions while owning the use of alternate buying channels.
  • Supplier Diversity – Encourages the use of diverse and balanced suppliers into Ally’s Supply Chain strategy.
  • Reporting & Analytics – Compose dashboards for members of Supply Chain and Business Lines to apply and leverage in their day-to-day roles.
  • Technology Collaboration – To collaborate with other top technology professionals across the organization to develop processes to optimize functionality across the organization.

Preferred qualifications.

  • Majoring in supply chain, logistics, or operations is preferred.
  • Previous supply chain internship experience or relevant project work is preferred.
  • Extracurricular activities/leadership experience is preferred (student organizations, volunteering, sports, part-time roles, etc.)

Ally’s Compensation Program

Base Pay Range $25.00 - $29.00

Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
