Job summary

BWE, a national full-service commercial and multifamily mortgage banking company, invites rising juniors for a Summer 2027 Internship on the Production Team in Bethesda, MD. The program provides exposure to underwriting, market research, and deal support within CRE finance.

You will assist with market surveys, analyses, and marketing materials, gain experience across asset types, and learn financial modeling and valuation under guidance of seasoned professionals.

Qualifications

• Current undergraduate sophomore or junior.
• Desire to work in the commercial real estate industry.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organization skills.
• Desire to learn underwriting, modeling, and financial analysis.
• Exposure to the primary property types, including multifamily, office, industrial, retail, and lodging.
• Experience with Argus Enterprise.
• Familiarity with, or interest in learning, Adobe InDesign.
• Knowledge of Salesforce or a comparable customer relationship management platform.
• Strong self-starter and inquisitive.
• Entrepreneurial work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Provide underwriting support for current deals, including market surveys, lease reviews, and financial analyses.
• Assist in client, property, and market research.
• Support in preparing marketing materials for clients and capital sources.
• Inspect real estate and surrounding land uses.
• Help maintain a contact database of customers, capital providers, and others in the commercial real estate and finance industry.
• Contribute to the maintenance of office pipeline reports.

Program participants will receive exposure to various asset classes, clients, capital sources, deal structuring, negotiation tactics, market trends, and financial models.
