Job summary

Ally is offering an 11-week paid internship designed to turn students from educated to experienced, with opportunities across Finance teams including Corporate Treasury, Enterprise FP&A and Consumer Bank Finance.

You'll work 40 hours weekly in a hybrid model with in-office and remote days, attend orientations and executive sessions, and have a path to full-time roles or future internships. Successful interns gain hands-on experience and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Majoring in Finance or taking finance courses
• Eligible to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future
• Experience in Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI or Tableau
• Previous internship experience, extracurricular activities, and leadership experience is preferred
• Candidates should reside in a commutable distance from the Ally location to which they are assigned

Work Schedule

Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. The Work Itself

As part of our Internship Program, you will have an opportunity to:

• Have hands on experience and project-based work

• Attend Orientation, Executive Speaking Series, and learning sessions as an Intern cohort

• Participate in Mentoring Program and Giving Back Events Network with your peers, your team, and those Allys you find interesting

• Lead an end of assignment presentation

The Details

• Must be graduating between December 2027 and May 2029

• Internship Program Timing: May 25 - July 30, 2027 (tentative)

• 40 hours each week with a mix of in-office and remote working days

• Project-based work

• Market competitive hourly compensation and a sign-on bonus, as well as financial housing assistance for those who qualify

• Successful interns will have the opportunity to return to Ally in an Early Talent Program or full-time role, or to a second internship, depending upon graduation timing.

The Finance internship is comprised of teams responsible for financial reporting and analysis for Auto, Insurance, and other Finance teams at Ally. Responsibilities will vary across each team, but will allow you to apply your classroom knowledge in a real world setting. The CFO interns will have the opportunity to:

• Summarize and analyze financial data

• Develop skills related to financial analysis, data analytics and reporting, and effective communication

• Attend formal company orientation and training

• Participate in executive speaking series

• Have hands on experience in area of study; as well as participate in project-based work

• Participate in an Employee Resource Group mentoring program

• Lead an end of assignment presentation

• Leadership and career development

• Networking opportunities

Areas of Opportunity

• Corporate Treasury - activities supporting optimization of Ally’s balance sheet, funding, and liquidity, as well as compliance related to capital and liquidity regulatory requirements

• Enterprise FP&A / Investor Relations – financial planning, analysis and reporting of actual financial results and operational metrics for enterprise functions and consolidated results

• Consumer Bank Finance – financial planning, analysis and reporting for consumer and commercial banking business

• Dealer Financial Services Finance - financial planning, analysis and reporting for auto and insurance businesses

• Finance Transformation – transformational value creation, delivering high-value business outcomes through data, advanced analytics and forecasting

Required Qualifications

• A rising Junior or Senior (during the time of internship) in a full-time undergraduate program

• Majoring in Finance or taking finance courses

• Well-rounded in academics, volunteering, and fun!

• Eager to challenge the status quo

• Eligible to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship from the company now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI or Tableau

• Previous internship experience, extracurricular activities, and leadership experience is preferred

• Candidates should reside in a commutable distance from the Ally location to which they are assigned

• A passion for the financial services and technology industry is strongly preferred

Base Pay Range

$25.00 - $33.00
