Job summary

Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. (WJE) offers Summer 2027 Internship opportunities for students pursuing degrees in architecture, architectural engineering, civil engineering, and structural engineering at multiple office locations across the United States.

As an Intern, you will work side-by-side with industry-leading experts, participate in field investigations, observations, and collaboration with staff in our laboratory.

Qualifications

• Student in junior or senior year of a bachelor's or in a graduate program in civil/structural engineering or architecture.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in forensic engineering and existing structures; serious about learning from experts.

Responsibilities

• Assist project teams with on-site investigations, condition assessments, and construction observations, including documenting distress and collecting data.
• Organize field data and research construction documents, codes, and design guidelines to support analysis.
• Perform analysis under supervision using software and engineering calculations.
• Assist in preparing preliminary and final client deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
