Job summary

Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. (WJE) offers a Summer 2027 Internship for students in civil or structural engineering, architecture, architectural engineering, and building science at multiple office locations across the United States.

Interns will work alongside industry experts on site investigations, data collection, and analysis under supervision, gaining hands-on experience and exposure to real-world projects in a collaborative, mentoring environment.

Qualifications

• Current student with excellent academic standing in their junior or senior year of a bachelor’s degree or in a graduate program in civil or structural engineering, architecture, architectural engineering, building science, or related field.
• Strong written, verbal, and graphical communication skills.
• Interest in forensic engineering and existing structures.

Responsibilities

• Assist field investigations and condition assessments under supervision.
• Document distress, collect data, and prepare site visit reports.
• Organize data and assist with research of codes and guidelines to support analysis and repair design.
• Perform analysis using software and engineering calculations under supervision.
