Job summary

McClelland Consulting Engineers, Inc. invites motivated engineering or landscape architecture students to join as a Summer 2027 Survey Intern. The role supports project design through data analysis, CAD/Civil 3D work, and renderings.

Responsibilities include coordinating with staff, preparing plans and cost estimates, and learning regulatory requirements while contributing to meaningful infrastructure projects in the Little Rock, Fayetteville, and surrounding area.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree (BS) program from an accredited Engineering or Landscape Architecture school.
• Detail oriented with strong planning and organizational skills.
• Excellent communications skills, teamwork, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Analyze reports, maps, drawings, and data to plan and design projects.
• Assist in cost estimation and feasibility analysis.
• Use CAD/design software to create design documents and renderings.
• Prepare reports, plans, schedules, and environmental studies for projects.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, tests, aerial photographs, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographic and geologic data to plan and design projects
• Calculates cost, determines feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data, and prepares detailed cost estimates
• Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to create design documents
• Prepares and modifies reports, specifications, plans, cost estimates, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for project
• Meets periodically to coordinate changes, inform of additional requirements, receive input, answer questions, and resolve issues
• Coordinates project activity with supervisor and support staff
• Researches regulations, products, and design techniques to provide answers
• Preparing illustrative hand and/or computer presentation renderings
• Preparing material and imagery boards, planting plans
• Performs other duties as assigned
