Job summary

State Farm is offering an internship in their Workplace Protection function within the Administrative Services department. The role focuses on security analytics, investigations, risk assessment and incident response, with a hybrid work environment in Bloomington, IL. Dates: June 2, 2027 – August 11, 2027 (10 weeks).

Hours: Monday–Friday, 38.75 hours/week. Hourly rate: $22.00/hour plus a $2,000 stipend (before taxes).

The Administrative Services department has an internship opportunity in their Workplace Protection function.

A Day in the Life of a Security Analyst – Ent Sec may include:

• Analyzes, designs, and facilitates capabilities, solutions, or preventative/remediation controls to protect people, mitigate risks, protect proprietary/confidential data, and property in accordance with industry standards and governance/compliance requirements
• Conducts investigations to protect people, information, and assets
• Manages, coordinates, and reports on the efforts of consultants, vendors, contractors, and/or business partners involved in security and incident response related projects and initiatives
• Researches/investigates emerging security topics, threats, capabilities, and solution options to create/update policy and governance, technology strategies, and vulnerability assessments
• Proactively monitors, communicates and coordinates response to worldwide events that may have an impact on company’s assets, employees or operations, such as: civil unrest, natural disasters, fires, accidents, utility/technology outages and weather
• Supports and engages in incident response, crisis management, threat management and the Joint Security Operations Center/Threat Hotlines
• Designs, implements, and provides oversight for technical training programs in area(s) of specialization as well as employee training and education as it relates to compliance and risk mitigation
• Applies industry standard risk management techniques and knowledge to determine effectiveness of controls and to create action plans that remediate identified risks
• Provides expertise in area(s) of specialization to business partners
• Conducts research, analyzes data, develops solutions, and collaborates with business partners/peers to produce communications, recommendations, and reports

Qualifications

Who We Are Looking For:

• Current college students (sophomore, junior and seniors) or grad student majoring in Criminal Justice, Criminology, and Intelligence Studies
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred (please include on your resume)
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to collect, organize, interpret and present complex data
• Ability to work independently or as part of a small team
• Forensics analysis, investigation, and technological skills

Internship Program Eligibility: To be eligible for an internship, candidates must be in an undergraduate or post-graduate program with a graduation date of December 2027 or later.

What You Can Expect

• Dates of internship: June 2, 2027 – August 11, 2027 (10 weeks)
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 38.75 hours per week
• Due to the short duration of the summer program, it is an expectation that hired interns will be available for the duration of the summer internship with little to no disruption in work schedule.
• Hourly Rate: $22.00/hour. In addition, selected interns will be eligible for a $2,000 stipend (minus applicable taxes)!
• Location: This position will be in a hybrid work environment located in Bloomington, IL.
• Selected interns should plan to spend time working from home and some time working in the office as part of our hybrid work environment. Please note that relocation benefits will not apply.
