Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Seattle invites graduate interns to join our GNC Projects team, collaborating with engineering groups on guidance, navigation, controls, autonomy, avionics, simulation, and systems engineering. You will gain hands-on, real-world experience and mentorship while contributing to meaningful spaceflight challenges.

The internship requires U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status, enrollment in a graduate program with at least one semester remaining, and full-time availability

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or asylum/refugee status.
• Currently enrolled in a graduate program with at least one semester/quarter remaining.
• Available to work full time for 15 weeks while not currently enrolled.
• Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for space and aerospace research.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with Blue engineering teams on GNC projects.
• Contribute to guidance, navigation, controls, autonomy, avionics, and simulation tasks.
• Engage in system testing and aerospace engineering activities.

As part of a hardworking team, interns work directly with Blue engineering teams on projects in support of our business units. GNC Projects may include different aspects of guidance, navigation, controls, autonomy, avionics, simulation, system test, aero sciences, and systems engineering.

During your internship experience, you can expect to:

• Gain hands on, real-world experience.
• Receive mentorship and feedback from mentors and managers.
• Participate in events to learn about other parts of our organization.

Required Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
• Currently enrolled in a graduate program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship.
• Available to work full time for 15 weeks while not concurrently enrolled in coursework.
• Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for space.

Desired:

• Relevant internship/co-op and academic project experience that demonstrate development of both technical skills as well as leadership qualities.
• Hands-on project experience.
• Experience with avionics software.
• Experience with C/C++.
• Experience with MATLAB or SIMULINK.

We offer housing and relocation support. Interns are responsible for daily transportation to and from their work locations.

Hourly compensation for applicant is: $38.00
