Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Orlando, FL is seeking an Electrical Intern to support the Electrical Engineering team with site designs, floor plans, diagrams, and equipment selections. This paid internship offers exposure to building engineering projects across data centers and campuses.

You will work under a Professional or Project Manager, develop technical skills, and contribute to energy efficiency and sustainable design, while embracing HDR's employee-owned culture and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist electrical site designs and lighting floor plans, one-line diagrams, and electrical details & schedules.
• Assist with specifications and selection of electrical equipment.
• Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager.
• Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Electrical Intern, we'll count on you to:

• Assist the Electrical Engineering team with electrical site designs, lighting & receptacle floor plans, one-line diagrams, and electrical details & schedules
• Assist the Electrical Engineering team with the preparation of specifications and selection of electrical equipment
• Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
• Interest in electrical engineering related to building design and construction.
• Preference given to local candidates
