Job summary

HDR is seeking a Summer 2027 Electrical Engineering Intern in Orlando, FL. You will support the Electrical Engineering team with site designs, floor plans, diagrams and schedules under supervision of a Project Manager.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program with strong problem-solving and communication skills and a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Local candidates are preferred in a collaborative, employee-owned culture.

In the role of Electrical Intern, we'll count on you to:

• Assist the Electrical Engineering team with electrical site designs, lighting & receptacle floor plans, one-line diagrams, and electrical details & schedules
• Assist the Electrical Engineering team with the preparation of specifications and selection of electrical equipment
• Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
• Interest in electrical engineering related to building design and construction.
• Preference given to local candidates

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
• Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Basic Microsoft Office skills
