Job summary

onsemi in East Fishkill, New York, is seeking a motivated engineering student to join the Defect Inspection group as a summer intern. You will gain hands-on experience with inspection tools while collaborating with experienced Defect Engineers and Technicians.

You'll participate in data analysis, recipe creation, and cross-functional initiatives to reduce defectivity, helping to improve yield and process health in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiar with Java, Python, or R.
• Good communication skills.
• Familiar with SQL.
• Experience with Power BI or similar BI tools (preferred).
• Semiconductor processing coursework or experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Generate defect Pareto charts to identify root causes and drive continuous improvement with module teams.
• Work with defect application engineers to improve DOI (defect of interest) detection.
• Create and execute DOE (design of experiments), analyze data, and communicate results with recommendations.
• Understand statistical concepts, such as multivariate and univariate analysis.
• Demonstrate project management skills, such as defining milestones and estimating timelines.
