Job summary

Keeley Construction in St. Louis is seeking a Safety Intern for Summer 2027 to support site safety programs, trainings, and inspections.

You will learn Keeley’s safety culture while assisting with incident investigations, record keeping, and coordinating with the Project Safety Manager and field teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating safety duties through committees, preplanning, and toolbox meetings.
• Attend safety trainings and orientations.
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance with Keeley’s policies.
• Promote safe work practices in line with regulations and contractual requirements.
• Support jobsite inspections with the Project Safety Manager or Superintendent.
• Help maintain safety records and metrics.
• Complete assigned tasks and projects and adhere to Keeley’s safety culture.

Keeley Construction is looking for a Safety Intern to join Keeley Construction for Summer 2027.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist in coordination of safety duties in such areas as safety committees, preplanning meetings and toolbox meetings.
• Participate in training at safety meetings, toolbox meetings and orientations.
• Assist in review of subcontractor safety programs for completeness and compliance with Keeley’s policies.
• Assist in promoting safe work practices and safe working conditions in accordance with all Federal, State and Local regulations and owner/contractual requirements.
• Assist in conducting jobsite and work area inspections with the Project Safety Manager or Superintendent. Review with Superintendent for distribution to subcontractors and Business Unit Safety Director.
• Assist in maintaining safety records, including pre-task plans, training records, tool box meetings, incident investigations and metrics.
• Responsible for the completion of any assigned tasks and projects.
• Learn and strictly adhere to the safety culture and policies.
• Support Keeley’s mission, vision, and values.

Minimum Qualifications

• In the process of obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Construction Management, or related degree.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
