Sompo invites applications for a Summer 2027 Ceded Reinsurance Accounting Intern in our Ceded Re team in New York City. The 10-week program provides hands-on accounting experience within the global ceded reinsurance function.

Interns work on data processing, statements, and analyses, with exposure to project work and leadership learning opportunities. This role emphasizes collaboration, learning, and potential long-term opportunities within Insurance/Reinsurance.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Business, Accounting, Economics, or related majors.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and quantitative and interpersonal skills.
• Interest in Accounting and niche Reinsurance concepts.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with collaboration.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Gain a solid understanding of the company's ceded reinsurance accounting practices.
• Contribute to the Ceded Reinsurance Accounting team and add value.
• Assist with processing and preparing account statements and data analysis.
• Review contract set-up in reinsurance systems.
• Liaise with Underwriting and Ceded Reinsurance Operations on data and projects.
• Assist the team with special projects.
