Job summary

Sompo Holdings, Inc. in New York City is seeking a Summer 2027 Ceded Re Facultative Reinsurance Intern for the Ceded Re team. This 10-week program offers niche accounting exposure, with potential long-term opportunities in Insurance/Reinsurance. Interns will learn reinsurance processes and participate in leadership activities.

You will process and enter Facultative Certificates, analyze data, review contract setups, and collaborate with underwriting and operations on projects.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Business, Accounting, Economics, or related majors.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and quantitative and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team with changing priorities.
• Prefer accounting-related interest and local office availability.

Responsibilities

• Gain solid understanding of ceded reinsurance accounting practices.
• Contribute and add value to the Ceded Reinsurance Accounting team.
• Assist with processing and entering Facultative Certificates into FSRI and analyze data.
• Review Facultative contract setup in reinsurance systems.
• Liaise with Underwriting/Ceded Reinsurance Operations on data and systems.
• Assist the team with special projects.
