Job summary

Sompo International invites applications for a Summer 2027 Ceded Re Fac Reins Intern in the Ceded Re team based in New York City. The 10-week program offers hands-on experience in accounting, data processing, and reporting for reinsurance ceded premiums and losses.

Qualifications

Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program (Business, Accounting, Economics or related majors).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Strong analytical, quantitative and interpersonal abilities expected.
Interest in Accounting and niche Reinsurance concepts encouraged.
Ability to work in a fast-paced team with changing priorities and strong collaboration.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Must meet eligibility to work in the United States and be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

Assist Ceded Reinsurance Accounting with data processing and entry into FSRI systems.
Support the team with data, systems and project work in the ceded reinsurance accounting process.
Contribute to accuracy and timeliness of financial statements and reports.
Participate in learning activities, leadership sessions and networking events.
Collaborate with underwriting and operations teams on data and project needs.
Assist with special projects as assigned by the team.
